Shit Happens.
Humans evolved by living in collective shared memory and experience. It was because we were nomads for majority of our history and have settled only for past 12000 years. The evolution of our body was aimed at highest survival chances. The cells would have analyzed, stored and adapted to numerous patterns in order to achieve the most restrain less path. We evolved from nomads to settlements. We have traversed from collective security of tribe to individual good.
Survival
needed a construct. Construct ensured collective security and shared benefit.
But it came with its drawbacks. The fear of the opinion of others and the fear
of being left alone. We evolved, but we also degraded the construct we live.
Humans learn by mimicking. Earlier life was pre dominantly controlled by this
construct.
Modern
life is controlled by so called State, which is only 250 years old. Think about
it, why is that you are only two brother or sister? Simple cause State wanted
it that way. During Emergency (1975-1977), family planning was introduced. Hum
do Hamare do. Yes, it has its administrative necessities. But what did it perpetrate
down?
Elimination
of options. One Male to take care of the entire family. if 2 girls in the same
house, the eyes of parents filled with who will be our old age support? But
what can we say? State justifies everything. And if you are their only child,
you become their Duryodhana (All that exists is for you).
The
same was true for its predecessors: The social belief system. When one examines
the narratives of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, it becomes evident that
even divine figures facing suffering served as a means to normalize misery.
Misery, after all, is universal. Consider the episode of Draupadi’s Vastra
Haran - who caused her suffering? Her own family. Why did Rama have to leave
Ayodhya, leading to his father’s death? Again, his own family. Yet, in the end,
the message is acceptance of suffering. Reflect on it - misery creates bonds.
If you and a less known classmate in school experience the same punishment for
not completing the work on time, it brings you together rather than setting you
apart.
As
Buddhism says, shit happens. And Hinduism says, this shit has happened before.
My
personal views.
Let
us look at it from a spiritual view. The humans are distinct cause they have
consciousness of their action. Being above animals, being above hunger and
reproductive needs.
Consider
a simple game. You are given a full glass of water and asked to walk to the
other end, empty it into a bucket, refill it-say with nimbu pani-and return.
The only condition is that if even a single drop is spilled, you must restart,
with the spilled portion replaced by poison. Thus, one must complete the
journey carefully and return to the starting point.
Similarly,
human souls begin in a state of purity. Across multiple lives, they attempt to
live fully- seeking curiosity, affection and bliss-yet remain constrained by
social constructs, the opinions of others, and their own hesitation.
The
soul carries forward the burden of not having lived fully, which manifests in
astrological charts. When someone says that his "Shani Bhari Hai, Mangal
Bhari Hai", one is not understanding the fact that the karma is not to
owed to the planet or God but to the soul, to purify, refill and return to its
origin. The curse/burden of every new life that we get is that we did not live
the past to its fullest.
Taking
example of Premanand Maharaj. What I see is that, his soul would have lived to
its fullest potential (may have been 99.99%). Now in this life, he is finishing
the rest 0.01% by attaining the purity and spreading it to all, irrespective of
religion, gender etc.
If
you have ever had lucid dreams, and travelled in astral plans you would
certainly know that we only see reality in 3D. But reality exists in dimensions
unknown. Movies like Final Destination make us realize that our reality is just
as much as that our eyes can perceive and we allowing our brain to comprehend.
All
this misery can be traced back to a single shift. A plant à wheat spread widely, courtesy of its evolution. Humans
domesticated it, leading to settlement and the abandonment of nomadic life.
Much of what we experience today is a consequence of that transition.
Now
at the end there is just one question to be answered.
What
would be worse? Not knowing why is shit happening to you? Or not knowing that same
shit has been happening again?
My
answer would be:
It’s
not living up to the potential of the soul that it can live and was meant to live. What would
be yours?
All
ideas here are based on the information known and life experienced so far.
